FYI for anyone using Disco Mike's procedure for changing your Power Steering Fluid for your steering and for ACE.
I did the change today. to swap the fluid by sucking it out of the reservoirs, adding new fluid, repeat, repeat, repeat took me 12 quarts of Valvoline Syn. PS fluid. Maybe I was too anal about the quality of the final product, but it took me 12 quarts to do both systems. Once done, everything worked great. No real noticeable change in the PS pump (why would there be??), but a definite change in the ACE system!! just thought I would report! ![]()

I never use more then 5 qts. of fluid between the p/s and he ACE. Still beats dropping lines and making a mess as well as the need of a test book to reset the ACE after doing the factory suggested service.

I bought 5 qts because that's what you told me, but mine took 12 to finally get it clear. Oh well. I was pretty easy though!
Thanks for the advice! It worked great!

May be your oil was a lot dirtier then mine the first time. Bottom line you got all the old stuff out for alot less then what the dealer or shop would charge.
Take care, Mike |
