SeaFoam is designed to work slowly, put in a tank of supreme then a can of juice.
Are you going to do the other can thru the induction system?

To do the induction process, take a vacuum line off the fuel pressure reg. at the regulator, not the intake portion. And slowly suck in the Sea Foam. I have done it before to my RRC and believe me, there was nasty stuff coming out that tail pipe; smoke, carbon smells, etc.. Gas mileage improved a bit.

1/2 of a can in a short wide container (I cut off the bottom of water bottle)

Make sure the engine is hot- don't just start and go, be sure its good and warm.

remove a vacuum hose (so the liquid will be be sucked into the intake)
some people use brake booster line- last time I used pcv, its easier to remove and I figured it would clean the pcv at the same time- I don't know of any reason not to use the pcv, but I've been wrong before ??

Suck it all in without stalling it- if it starts to stall, just back off a sec and continue untill its all gone.

Shut off the engine right away.

Grab something to drink and wait about 15 minutes

make sure you resecured whatever line you took off

Start the engine and let the fun begin.

You'll want to run the RPMs up to at least 2500-3000 to best burn all the crap out, so if you don't mind the smoke screen you'll leave behind you- take it for a spin and leave in "2" to regulate the RPMs or just have at in the driveway.

Don't worry, you didn't kill it- but it might smoke so much you'll think you did for a moment.

A couple other things-

If you have a "rover or car buddy" that isn't familiar with this treatment, take a dig. video of it and email to them asking "what do you think is wrong with my car" The response will be something along the lines of- "Dude, what the **** did you do to your car?!" I thought is funny, but I have no life.

Also, make sure the wind isn't going to blow all the smoke in your or your neighbors window- not that did this when I did it to my CJ.

I've never got a for sure answer if the amount of smoke is related to the amount of carbon, but my 2000 disco had about 80k on it when I did this and it smoked more that any vehicle I've seen- at least twice as much as my 75 CJ with the original motor.

hope that helps and good luck

This process does clean the engine, using chemicals to break up carbon build up on the intake valves and the cylinders. I did this to my motor, and OMG the motor ran a hell of a lot better. You should've seen the smoke coming from the exhaust and the smell was unbearable.

After driving it to break out any more of the chemical and carbon, the motor really ran better, idled better, and the exhaust didn't smell like something that got killed crossing the freeway.

Fairly simple to do too!

On the topic of SeaFoam-

I think it really helps as stated above- I noticed a much smoother idle and overall better running engine- I'd say you should do the treatment every so often, BUT I have to wonder about overdoing it. Keeping your engine clean is one thing, but as much burn off as you get I would think that whatever is in that bottle would be eating at everything- including gaskets and seals. There is no perfect anything, I use SeaFoam in every vehicle and swear by it. You just have to be sure remember what it is doing and that the carbon build up can't be the only thing it sticks to- a trade off of sorts I guess but with carbon and sludge problems these engines are prone to I think it may be more important that with other vehicles.
