Default Rear door won't open??? Ideas??

Hi guy's,

The damn rear door [ big one at the back of truck....lol..] won't open on the truck. Inner and outer handles are working, lock button goes up and down when using remote and inner handle.....can ever hear the mechanism working inside the door to the latch...

Ideas on: A- what could it be? Latch??
B- how do i get the damn door open to check the latch? [i know, remove the inner panel etc....but how to release the latch from the catch on the body]

Thanks, Dean

If the latch is actually sticking, take a small knife and pry off the Land Rover oval badge and spray some WD40 or other lubricant on the latch to free it up.

Hopefully that will do the trick.

is there anything in the back of the truck?
i packed mine very tight with gear and it was pressing hard against the inside of the door. handle was free, but door would not open. removed the gear from the inside and all was good again.

just an idea

Don't know if this will answer your problem, but here is a guy who had a similar problem, and his troubleshoot.

Thanks for the link....i did all the same things...yesterday i went out to the truck and just for kicks i tried the rear door and guess what...the damn door opened???

I think the safety lock part [the little lever you can flick for child safety has something to do with it because once the door was open if i put pressure on it the latch would CLICK and then be fine???

One of those mystery things i guess......
