Default Rigid Brake lines

Anyone replaced the rear brake lines before? Im doing this now and its pretty clear you can't route it the same way. I'll post some pics with what I figure out.

First, why are you replacing them, why only the rears and are you using braided stainless steel lines or rigid solid lines?
When replacing the rubber lines, you should always replace both the front and rear, and there is no re routing needed, the replacement stainless steel lines are plenty long.

Im replacing the rigid lines because brake fluid was peeing out, Im ordering the stainless flex lines. This truck drove in Ontario for 8 years, which means everything under there rusts out.

Are these lines 3/16's (the rigid ones). They look that way, tho the fittings are 10 mil..which seem impossible to find here as well.

Break lines and fuel lines are never fun.

I'd route it as easy as possible. Just make sure they are safely out of the way so nothing snags them.

I wouldn't worry about the fitting size. Most likely it's not gonna be the same unless you have the exact same line.

In fact if you are having a hard time finding something that fits, I would suggest using an adapter to whatever size line you can get a hold of. Just make sure the line size is the same. The fittings really won't matter as long as they fit and the flange is the same.

I would suggest brass fitting as well. They'll never rust. Unfortunately the fitting's on break lines are never brass, but if you use adapters get brass.

I'll have a look around for adapters, having no luck finding the 10mm fittings to go into the calipers.

With your trucks age, consider replacing both front and rear rubber hoses also, they are know to fail with age.

Sourcing parts for foreign cars in North America is a tedious task. Prices are high and choices are extremely limited so is a tendency to jury-rigged solutions.

Call up Rimmer Brothers. Parts Spares & Accessories for Land Rover Discovery Range Rover & Rover SD1 or any another UK aftermarket supplier. All of them should have your ss braided hoses with the right fittings at low prices. Alternatively, if you want to try to save more, take the existing fittings to a local Aeroquip supplier and they will make up what you need while you wait.

I'm completely rebuilding my brakes now, and im glad im doin it..one pin in each caliper carrier was ceased, the hard lines were completely rotten and all the fittings were scrap. I already have the rebuild kits of my calipers and I sandblasted all the parts and they look new and painted now.

Just need to find the proper fittings now, are they going to be british imperial size or metric tho? Im gunna give a dealership a call tomorrow and see if they'll send me some.
