Default Rpm or surging?

Trying to find out what's going on? if I drive on highway for 30mn with no trafik at 60mph once I come to a stop or I go into park the RPM goes down them comes back up as if it was going to turn off , but it does not, it revs back up. Does anyone now what the issue could be? the only code I have is p0440, thanks
Dave

When was it last tuned, with wires, do you have any fault codes, have you cleaned your t/body and idle control solenoid and what octane gas are you burning?

Hi Mike, yeah did have the throttle clean but not the idle control. how do I do that? The wires were changed by the original owner about a year 1/2 ago. the only code I am getting is p0440 I had the system checked with the LR computer and all the pistons are fireing correct. Can it be the purge valve affecting the system like burping it out?
Thanks
Dave
the coolant temparture while ideling is 208F can that be also? I am changing thermostat and fan clutch on Thursday, but rover never over heats

Hi, Mike I changed my purge valve today and I sprayed carb cleaner in the ICS it had a lot of carbon built up, but I'm not sure if I cleaned it right? I put it all back and drove home.
Thanks, Dave
