Default Safety Devices roof rack

Anyone know where to buy a Safety Devices Highlander roof rack for a D2? Expedition Exchange does not know when or even if they will get any more. Safety Devices could only refer me to distributors in the UK..... This is the only rack that is strong, well made and looks like OEM and belongs on the truck. I am not interested in a fit everything add on with limited capacity as other racks on the market. Thanks!
Chuck

Give Jon at E.E. your name and a credit card number, as quick as he gets on he will ship it. May be your best bet unless you go used and there are a few that show up on the classified section of some of the forums.

I'll only agree with the last part.. and that's because SD did come OEM on the discos, they were just rebranded "Land Rover Adventure Rack". But the other options (e.g. Hannibal) and plenty strong and well made... and somewhat more functional since they are flat (rooftop tents).

I still love my SD tho.

I have a voyager and it works great! It fit great, no reworking involved at all! strong enought for me to stand on!

I got mine from this place: www.northwestparts.com

Here is a pic of it with my canoe on it:

and here is a pic of my rover with the rack at the beach:

I read that thread and that's just sad. I have a NWP rack that I bought on ebay almost a year ago. I got the rack and the ladder for 699 I just happened to find them on ebay. it's a good rack and ladder.

but oh well. if NWP ever gets there biz together it's a very good rack.

Over the last two weeks, I have spoken to a couple of distributors and retailors and the word from Saftey Device is that they are reorganizing and looking at what they will continue to sell. There will be no new racks coming out, if at all for sometime.

Mike,

yeah I spoke to someone about that last year. SD had safety concerns about their racks.

last year they said they were considering coming back fiscal Q2 2007
but well we can tell that's a farse.

that's how I ended up with a NWP rack. my rack is great. but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones from what I hear.
