Default Satellite radio antenna install in '02 DII

Hi; I'd like to install a satellite radio antenna in my DII, and I was wondering if there's any way to snake the lead up one of the front pillers to get to that plastic plug on the roof.

If it can't be snaked, what kind of job is it to get a wire from the radio's location, across the dash and up the piller? Is one side's piller easier to use than the other? How easy is it to remove the headliner?

I guessing the metal strips in the heaters for the front window would kill the satellite radio signal if I try to leave the antenna inside..... Thanks!

I think i would go to the right side of the dash [passenger side] as the glove box comes out and give good access to that side of the dash. You can probably stuff the antena into the pillar plastic trim and work your way up the roof.

You may want to try it inside the truck before you spend all the time running the antena just in case it works without.....

As for headliner removal etc....i have never done it but i doesn't look fun...double sunroofs, lots of trim, switches, lights etc....no thanks, not unless i have to.....

later, Dean

I ran the antenna wire behind glove box and through doorjam and put the antenna on rear of hood right in the center next to the windshield

I've run an XM antenna through a heated windshield many times, it doesn't hurt the signal at all. To answer your question though, you can pop off the interior a-pillar covers and run the wire up to the headliner and back to the plastic plug on the roof. My G4 is wired this way- just seal the plug really well.

I assume your asking about the FM antenna...it's located in the rear side window...I'm pretty sure on the drivers side.
