Default Sea Foam Application

O.k., I'll run premium. Disco Mike, I see your statements regarding sea foam. I'm going to run it through this week and will let you know the results. How do you go about cleaning the throttle body and idle control unit?

My feeling you should do this once or twice a year, depending on your driving, what gas you are using and the truck is feeling.
I do mine every 6000 to 8000 miles.

Default Seafoam

Batman had nothing on me today. Looked like I set the sugar cane field on fire. Mike, I'll take pictures of engine soon as I get a chance.

Default Engine Cleaning and Seafoam

Hey Guys -

This has been discussed several times in previous threads but often the final technique is not included. I have a 1998 Disco 1. 3 Questions:

1- To Seafoam: pull vacuum line from Brake Booster and use pliers to regulate the Seafoam into engine slowly, Turn off engine for 5-10 minutes. Restart drive around someone else's neighborhood. Hit highway speeds. Correct?

2- How do you go about cleaning the throttle body?

3- How do you go about cleaning the idle control unit?

Thanks, Peter

Suck the fluid in slowly over a minute or too, then as per the instructions let it sit for at least 20 minutes. I know people that let it soak all day for the extra benefit.
Make sure to use the whole can when doing this and put one in the gas tank also.

As for the t-body, remove the air intake hose, spray carb cleaner into the t/body and t/plate, scrub the whole area, including the back side of the t/plate with a tooth brush then wipe it all out with some paper towel.

Remove the idle control unit, clean all the carbon build up out of it and reinstall.
