Default Secondary air blower 2000 DII

Can the secondary air blower be removed or disconnected? I hate that vaccum blower sound when it starts up or at idle at a stop light.

Don't you think it is there for a reason? Also, disabling part of the emmision control system is a violation of Federal law. Plus you will most likely throw codes and CEL.

You really can't/shouldn't do that.
Your ECU will not be able to manage your engine, you will loose power, mileage and it will run like crap.

If you don't like the sound; you can shut off the engine as soon as it starts and then re-start it. But it's only on for about a minute - No big deal!

Thanks Mike. Always listen to your advice.

It's just annoying. Not really a problem.

Federal violation, gee that is scary. Sure wouldn't want to distract attention away from something else they should be doing like securing the borders.

I've got a 2000 and it definitely has SAI. I can attest to the annoyance, but it's minor.

The parts locator software Land Rover has shows some without SAI all the way up to the end of the DII.
Every time I look in the engine compartment of a Disco without SAI, I envy the space.

Yes siree, at least it is titled a 2000. The unit sits on the firewall on the passenger side. Maybe it was a unit built later in the year? Your right it really isn't a problem. Now changing the plug wires, that is a horse of a different color.

Still love it though!!!
