Default selling my sls setup

I am converting to rear coil springs on my disco II. Once done, I will sell my rear air suspension parts.

Pump, lines, height sensors, air bags (fairly new), ECU if I can get it out easily enough.

I also have the RTE 2" spacer setup. fairly recently installed.

anybody interested in this stuff, let me know. It all works fine (currently on the truck). I am not trying to get top dollar for it, but would like to get a fair price. I would make a pretty sweet deal for anyone looking to buy the entire setup in one deal.

Also, if anyone knows what this stuff is worth, please give me a shout to let me know.

thanks

Two things - One is,not sure how insurance companies work in the US,but here in the UK Disco II's were never type approved as 7 seaters with coil springs on the rear.So here your insurance may be void if you change a 7 seater back to coils.
Two is,dont try selling your SLS Ecu - its actually a SLABS Ecu,self levelling and ABS in the same black box.You may have lots of warning lights !!

Default good question

I would hate to have that discussion with my insurance company becasue I am certain they would have no idea what I was talking about.

question...
what makes my car an official 7 seater?
I removed the jumpseats
it is a 1999 disco II which means it is not technically an SE-7. those designations were added after my year. the rear jumpseats and rear SLS was an addded option. maybe my insurance premiums would go down if I told them it was a 5 passenger car insteead of 7?

HMmmmm

thanks

Anyway... anyone interested in the SLS setup? Anyone know what it is worth???

Its not a problem to have a coil sprung 7 Seater. I have an '04 SE7 and it came with coils. No SLS, No ACE, No issues. You could probalby sell it to someone interested in keeping the SLS and in need of spare parts. If the ECU is as intergerated as they say it is then just leave it alone and sell the rest for spare parts. I would not mind having SLS but I've done pretty good without it. I have had the Disco Loaded with 7 full sized adults. While I was a little cramped as I was one of those in the 3rd seat the Disco did not squat or feel any heavier.

It must be us in the UK stuck with silly rules then - its a well known issue here, the only reason I made the post was that I was asked about 3 weeks ago by a disgruntled owner if it was OK for the garage she bought the car off to do the coil spring conversion.I explained the situation and she also explained that the garage said her SLS couldnt be fixed.(Does not suprise me,knowing where the car came from.)
Last wednesday the car arrived at my yard from a different garage with instructions to sort it out.The garage had heard the full story,so I can only assume the customers insurance company was not happy. All it needed was a new compressor and a LH air spring - job done.

Default i called the insurance company

They said that the car will still be insured but anything that was modified to non-mfr. specification will not be covered. So...

if you get into an accident and need to replace the rear springs, they will cover the cost of the rear air springs. that what Allstate insurace says.
they will not cover the cost of upgraded items is their position.

Sounds fair enough to me - you are still insured. Here we hear of stories that insurers refuse to pay out AT ALL if the vehicle has been modified and they hav'nt been informed.
My garage policy wont cover my wife to drive her RR because of her business activities,so I insure it seperately. The broker even had to refer back to the underwriters because it has later alloys,(genuine LR) and factory light guards. They did OK it all,but it is all listed on the policy document - It may seem OTT,but I dont trust them an inch,so I deliberately tell them every last detail.
