Default "Service Engine" light illumanted???

I changed my oil today, everything went real smooth. As I was driving around the city the "Service Engine Soon" light illumanted. What would make it turn on? But my coolant level is on the low side, could that be the problem?

Buy this, use it and let us know what code you have.

Or if you want, you can drop by your local autozone and ask to use their scanner for free.
I'd buy my own(you'll use your fare share, and it works on all model cars), but if you want a quick way to get the codes, they'll do it for free. Write them down, and post on here. Someone will porbably know how to help you.

There are hundreds ofthings that will cause the light to come on, go get the codes read and get back to us. Don't jump in and mess with the MAF unless you have the codes to justify that.

Maybe as a quickie untill his $40 scanner comes in the mail. But, if a guy isn't willing to spend $40 for a scanner, they really shouldn't even bother trying to fix their own car.

Well I fixed the problem guys! I went to my local dealer that was like 3 hrs away. They plugged in a laptop to it and read all the codes. It was in "Transit Mode" They turned it off and he said it was a computer glitch or something. But anyways they charged me $35. And its under warranty!

Why did they charge you if it's under warranty?
