Default Service Engine Light P1884

I recently bought an 03 Discovery and have had alot of sensors go off lately, i've fixed all of them except one that just came up. P1884, when autozone checked the computer, this code came up and said it was a transmission code. I have checked around and one site said the code was "CAN message WFPDK (DKI) invalid (FFh)."

Does anybody know what this means and how do i fix this. Thanks.

P1884 -
coolant level sensor short circuit

From what I have read it has to do with one of the following:
Engine friction
throttle position
engine temp
road speed
engine torque
engine speed
engine air intake temp

Is this your only code? What codes did you have previously and how is the truck running?
Could be the crank sensor but this code gets tossed around in forums and seems to have different symptoms.

I had the codes: P0112, P0102, P1412, P1415, P1884. But after i did a few things they went off except for P1884.

The truck is running great now, i had a hose that was loose on the intake and another hose that came off, i put them back on and tightened the clamp and the car runs great. I believe that was the reason for the "too lean" codes.

Sounds like you need a new CAN.....Easy to get at Autozone.

An invalid CAN message usually relates to low battery voltage, poor earth or a loom fault - not always easy to find.Have a look where the loom goes around the back of the transfer box then down to the WXYZ switch on the side of the gearbox.
