Default SES Light Flashing

So I have the service engine soon light is now flashing. The engine has a very rough idle and kind of shakes the truck some. Should I drive it to autozone to get the codes read or no? Maybe tow it?

Drive it if it's close, real close. The tow will cost more than it would to go buy an OBDII scanner....get the codes and report them back here for help.

UGH - a few blocks but not 12 miles. Try to find a friend that has an OBDII reader..manual says don't drive with a blinky SES...or go buy one...it will pay for itself in the end and you will use it alot..@ $69 for a cheap one vs a $99 tow.

Ok I went to Autozone and borrowed their scanner. All they charge is a security deposit of $150 if anyone is wondering. Heres the codes I got.

1) P1300- Misfire...
2) P0306- Misfire cyl 6
3) P0301- Misfire cyl 1
4) P0300- Random Muiltple Cyl Misfire
5) P0301- Misfire cyl 1
6) P0306- Misfire cyl 6

So where do I go from here.....spark plugs or wires but im thinking ignition coil went bad or is going bad.

Truck only has 34k miles

So from searching the forums....start with magnecor or kingsborne 8mm wires then go from there. Champion or bosch spark plugs as well.

because of the fact that the ses was consistently blinking I would tend to lean more towards a bad coil, but for sure change the plugs and wires and see what happens.

Are you running factory wires, if so do a full tune with 8 mm wires first, if it is still there then replace the one coil.

What octane gas are you burning?
May also want to to an induction cleaning to get rid of a little carbon?
