So I have the service engine soon light is now flashing. The engine has a very rough idle and kind of shakes the truck some. Should I drive it to autozone to get the codes read or no? Maybe tow it?
Drive it if it's close, real close. The tow will cost more than it would to go buy an OBDII scanner....get the codes and report them back here for help.

UGH - a few blocks but not 12 miles. Try to find a friend that has an OBDII reader..manual says don't drive with a blinky SES...or go buy one...it will pay for itself in the end and you will use it alot..@ $69 for a cheap one vs a $99 tow.
Well I am changing the spark plugs now with champions. I have ordered the wires they should be overnight here tomorrrow. So wish me luck that this fixes the issue.....
because of the fact that the ses was consistently blinking I would tend to lean more towards a bad coil, but for sure change the plugs and wires and see what happens.
Are you running factory wires, if so do a full tune with 8 mm wires first, if it is still there then replace the one coil.

thanks but im just trying to get out a alluminum tube that connects the two and runs across the top of the coils. Its just a really really tight fit and its kickin my tail.
What octane gas are you burning?
May also want to to an induction cleaning to get rid of a little carbon?
