Default SES light went out???

Humm i don't know what happened....Service engine soon light went out the other day. The only thing i changed was the rear air springs [as one was leaking down after a day or so of sitting}....i thought that if this was the case i would put a "hard code" in the computer and the light would stay lit???

Oh well, don't really care because the light is out now but this maybe the cause of others problems as well as the guy that i got the truck from said he had it checked for the SES and they could never find the problem......

later, Dean

If I remember right, there is a warning light for the SLS if it overheats, if it has a problem it store it on the CEL, I had that one time with mine.

whenever an abs code is stored in the computer if the problem exists for a while it will turn off the misfire monitor and turn on the CEL.

Basicailly when you go offroading it turns off the misfire monitor. Even taking out a fuse for the SLS and ABS will turn on the CEL.

rough road code is given. 1378 I think. I need to research it.

anyway, the SRS lite is most likely your pretensioner. We have alot of those problems and just replace the pretensioner. Its not uncommon for it to come on and off every now and then. The code is stored in the SRS module until you turn it off.

Well, on the DII I just bought, I was told by the PO, that the Light DID burn out . He did buy a new instument cluster, but he said that the computer wouldn't recognize the new cluster, for some reason. Anyone know why not!?
