I own a 2001 Series II Land Rover Discovery.
Can anyone help me with this problem. I am having real problems moving the automatic gear selector from P to any other of the gears. The problem is so bad I have taken to leaving the car in N using the parking break to stop the car from moving when parked. To work through the issue I sit there and either rev the engine and the problem will eventually go away and the gear selector will move. Thoughts? |

If you are luckey, you only have a failing brake light switch which is located down at the brake pedal.
Have someone stand behind your truck while you try and brake, do you have rear brake lights? Mike |

Not bad new, just a harder repair.
Most likely the solonoid that is on top of the tranny, under the console, may have failed. Probably time to go find yourself a good mechanic and have him verify the problem. Mike |

I have only been here for 2 months, but it was suggested I use Rob Colombin. I have met him and he has a great shop, in Evergreen, but he is good.
Do you get out on the trails much? 303-679-1610 |
