I would like to thank forbin10, disco mike and salty for the helpful advice about the oil leaks on my discoII. I finally stopped procrastinating and took her back to the shop and had all of my leaks fixed, AGAIN. And now after 2600.00
and them taking 12 days to replace the front and rear main bearing cap seals, head gaskets and resealing the transfer case, I should have a spotless garage floor again. Now my friends will have to stop calling my LR a Leak Rover. I know she is costing me a purdy penny or should I say pennies because that is what I almost had to pay them with , I STILL LOVE MY TRUCK! I love this site and you guys are very helpful. Muah |

Just remember a Rover isn't a Rover unless it is leaking. Most people say if your Rover isn't leaking it is out of oil.
The impoetant thing to remember about the work you just had done, it is covered for 1 years, so make sure you inspect it 12 moths from now and have any leaks fixed again. Mike |

Thanks Mike, I will keep that in mind and I have a question.
Have you or anyone else read any kind of service bulletin regarding a shuttle valve repair kit or something to that effect that will keep those darn set of trio lights ABS,HDC, etc lights from illuminating? |

Probably the 3 biggest problems causing codes to be thrown are related to squeaky brakes, dirty brake fluid and overly sensitives wheel sensors. Squeaks drive ABS sensors crazy and are usually always caused by cheap aftermarket pads that glaze up. Dirty brake fluid, besides causing a soft brake pedal and caliper failures cause internal ABS problems with valves. Mike |

That too is my pet peave about Rovers. But it's a British thing, my buddy's Jags all leak a lot worse. If I can keep it down to the power steering I'm happy.
