sloppy steering at times

I needs some help on my steering. At times while driving the car will travel into the ruts in the road. If you are going over a bridge that is not smooth the steering wheel will move back and fourth, when you enter on to the bridge and exit off the bridge. Has anyone had this concern before. HELP!

First look at your air pressure, tread wear, and toe setting.
How many miles on your truck?

All tire psi is good, tires are less that 7months old. have not checked toe setting,but the car does not seem to be pulling or doing anything funny. Only when roads are bad or rough entrance and exit bridges. my truck has
87,000 miles on it. 2001 not 02

Does your steering wheel sit perfectly level?
One other possibility with your mileage would be the steering stabilizer, it has to be shot by now, time for a good OME stabilizer.

I have a problem with sterring .

It get progresivly more slapy when the wheel it turned to the left .

In the center it has maybe 1/4" of slap . but at full left it has at least 3 to 5" of slap .


That's the stering box , right ?

yes it does drive straight except on road with a bad crown,(like by my work) shorly after i got the truck about a year ago I put a new rancho stabilizer on it. could be posible that it is just as weak. (not very strong)

That's the stering box , right ?

Sounds like your steering box is going south, how long has it been since you changed the fluid?

Time to run it by an alignment shop that is used to doing 4wheel alignment, have then inspect and set the toe.

while we are talking about steering, at times when turning right i get a whine coming from the engine sounds like powersteering pump, i need some direction on service for the powersteering system, and how much fluid to add, if doing a flush

May want to consider flushing the power steering system to free up a possible stuck valve.

If your alignment is off, that is not a big expense compared to other Rover repairs.

I've changed it twice .

Once i got it . ( May of 2006 I think or 2005) and last month when I had the motor out of the truck
