Default SLS Gremlins Come and Go

'99 Disco II, 127k miles. My ongoing SLS mystery continues, and any posts to this one are probably all academic at this point because as soon as my SLS finally and permantly fails I am going to do a coil conversion (although Disco Mike is right--SLS is great when it works). But, in short, my rear suspension dropped again briefly last Monday with a tire change, but pumped right back up when I started it. The SLS worked perfectly all last week until yesterday afternoon when it dropped and stay dropped while driving and all last night. Now it works again, and my wife said it has stayed up today. When the rear is up it stays up for several days at a time, and it drops without any consistency, except perhaps, after driving a while (1 hour or more and then kids get in.) But it stays dropped with NO consistency whatsoever, and seems to pump right up if it does not drop all the way.

I have not seen any posts with this same problem, and, at the risk of beating this dead horse, I would love to hear if there is some simple solution, or if I just have to attribute this to the SLS Gremlins, and do the coil conversion when it completely fails.

TIA

You need to have a mechanic go and rad your SLS fault codes so you can handle this without going nuts.

Thanks Mike. I will stop by an independent this week. How much does a dealer typically charge for this?

My truck does the same thing. First it was the right side. I replaced the airbag and now a few months later the left side has started. Both bags had a leak in them. I don't know why it didn't do it all the time but it would only do it sometimes. Since I replaced the right side bag it hasn't gone down.
