Unhappy son of a... head or valley leak

it seems i've got a leak dripping from the back of the engine onto the bellhousing. i was wondering if i could tell where it was comming from by removing the intake manifold. reason being if it was the valley i would do it myself, head gaskets not sure if i'm willing to dig that deep myself.

Have the head gaskets been done before, how many miles on the engine.
Odds are 80 % in favor of head gaskets.

Not what you asked but what you need to hear, I have reasons for my questions and replys and they are usually for your benefit, not mine. So, again how many miles and have the gaskets ever been replaced before?
If you pull down the manifold and find the valley pan is not the problem, then what?

i know you really are trying to help, but none of that is relavent to being able to tell where the leak is comming from i just want to know what it is. it's a 2000 with 130,000 miles and i have no idea if the head gaskets have been done or not. they haven't been done while i've owned it, almost 4 years with about 75,000 miles somethings been done to it though because it has the 2003 on radiator hose. if it's more than i choose to handle i'll just drive my company vehicle while my truck is at this place Reborn Company LLC Your British Car Specialist, Land Rover, British Car Service and Sales about an hour from me, or if its going to be awhile i put insurance back on my jeep and drive it while i wait. now that all the ilrelavent questions have been answerd will there be enough visable area with the intake plenum removed to be able to see. thanks.

OUCH!!! That sucks. Was going to say intake manifold gasket leak. Pretty common realy. I did one myself 2 years ago and the worst part was trying to find the damn plennum gasket. Was easier to find bigfoot i think.

Good luck man...that blows.

You should be able to see easily once you remover the manifold, Once the manifold is off, the head gasket job is not that difficult if you decide to proceed.

Ya once the intake is off, your 16 bolts away from the heads coming off.
I'm not sure it's a head gasket..
