Here is another place to buy wires.
http://www.roverconnection.com/ John C., Just curious, what failed after a few months, the plugs? What did they look like? Not saying this combination is full proof, but I usually don't hear of it failing. Wonder what sort of voltage the coil is putting out, that is one thing that is a must for the Plus 4's, usually 50,000 volts plus. Take care, Mike J. |

Plugs are plugs, there is no secret to changing them.
How ever the plug wires are a different story. If you follow them, you will see they wrap around to the back side of the engine block where they are connected to 2 coil packs. Now you have 2 choices, remove the top of the air intake manifold, lots of fun and labor, or have a friend with a small hand reach around, one wire at a time, feel where they plug into the coils and unplug one at a time replacing the old wire with a new one. This can take a lot of patience, at least one six pack and a hour or morebut it is cheaper then paying a mechanic $250 plus labor. Mike J. |

Hey if you think replacing all of them is bad try warrantee repair with the customer waiting. Not fun especially on 4.6
And everyday is fun at LR dealership. Especially on Fridays, where Sales drops off cars at the last minute to be delivered and customers are waiting for their cars and did I mention the parts that finally showed up so you can give the other customers their car for the weekend. And tommorow is going to be a federal holiday. Yeah, all the cranky state workers bitching about their one day off and how they deserve to be first and get their car done immediately. I love this job. |

Beezel,
I know what you are saying, I managed and or wrote service for nearly 20 years. The fun ones are the high end dealers, their customer aren't buyin a Chevy they are buying a $$$$$$$$$$ Vehicle. Mike J. |

Actually Range Rover customers arent a pain in the ass at all.
They dont break down at all well except for the front diff if they dont get the recall done.. Its the freelander customers that are a pain in the ass. Well the annoying ones We see them all the time and they all say the same thing. this car is crap; ANd they say it to our face. ANd well there right. Discos get leaks and some window regulators but nothing like Freelanders. I do at least two window regulators a week, We do at least an engine or two or three a month and a few trannies. Not to mention sunroofs, heatercores, driveshafts, steering racks. And lets not forget the twelve hour charge for timing belts at 72k. Why cause its a rover engine. if you want to know whats a good vehicle check to see what the employees are driving. most of us got discos and RR. |

Don't just buy any 8mm wires, get a set of Magnacors or better, no off brand stuff, it will cost big time in the long run.
Go to the Rover Connection, price is good and they will ship them quickly. Mike J. |
