i recently was told that before i buy a speed sensor i should just check and see if mine are dirty...is this true? could s dirty sensor cause the problems?
how do i go about getting to them. i do not know where the sensor is located. can anyone lead me in the right direction with this?

Just curious, why do you think you need a speed sensor?
To answer your question, You can remove the wheel and look to the inboard side of the hub. The sensor may be difficult to see if your brake debris guards are still there.

Yes, it could be a sensor or it could be a SLABS unit. However, with the history of the D2 and failed or "impaired" sensors, I would start with the sensors. Have you removed the hobs for any reason? Do your axles spend a lot of time under water, or covered in sand or salt like grit? I would think that harsh environmental impacts would be detrimental to the circumference of the sensor where it attaches to the hub.
There is a guy here, jeff I think is his name; just posted recently about contamination like grease or water intrusion around the sensor. I would inspect each sensor for security (is it loose), cleanlinesa around sensor hub interface (is it caked with grease, is there evidence of water between the two; and finally I would inspect the security and integrity of the harness itself. I guess I am lucky...knock on wood; I have never had the three lights. ![]()

you better knock on wood!!! hahaha...one more question, and it may be a stupid one, if the lights are on does that mean that the systems do not work properly?
