If you would gp clean and tighten your battery cables, then go have your battery tested, you would find you probably have a bad battery that would explain the start issues and the SRS light, which is most likely a low voltage fault code for your air bags.

About the SRS light, my 01 Disco, has this problem. I've found out that is a bad contact on the yellow SRS connectors under the front seats. If you unplug a plug it again it should be ok.

The battery is less then a month old and the terminals are nice and clean. The valve pan covers are seaping some could the be a contributing factor?

If your v/c is leaking back onto the crank sensor, yes that can be the problem.
How long has the DRD light been on? If the system hasn't taken some low voltage then better go get the code read by your mechanic to find out for sure.

it just started coming on lastnight. As for the leaking I took disco to the local LR dealer and had the service department take a look I since I have dealt with them for several years I trust there judgement. They said the v/c leak was not an issues unless it would start burning on the EM and smelling.

Does the IM have to be removed to replace the v/c gaskets?
