Default Still learning...

Hi everyone, just a couple of questions. First wondering if anyone has had moisture in headlights (the 03 and up kind) and if so can they be fixed or resealed. Second, Ive read alot about greasing the u-joints, well I got under my rig and found that it appears that I can grease the driveshaft itself. The place (I'm really sorry,I don't know what it's called, I call it a nipple) where grease goes in is about 2-3 inches away from the u-joint on the driveshaft itself. Does this still need greased and should I replace someday with greaeable u-joints. Sorry so long but I really am new at this stuff but very eager to keep learning about these awesome vehicles. Many thanks in advanced. Chris 2004 disco se7

i personally don't have moisture in my 04 SE7 (and my name is chris)'s headlights, but there should not be a problem about resealing them. people bust lenses opens clean any fog out and reseal them all the time on other cars. just apply the method onto your rover...

What you need to be able to grease is each of the 3 front u-joints and the one rear, if you can't then you need to have the shaft rebuilt, for about $150 or replaced.
As for the head light, you have a seal leaking, drill a small hole in the bottom of the light housing and you will be fine.

Thanks Chris and Mike for the replies. Mike, when I drill the hole in the light housing, is that on the outside in through the lens itself or on the backside of the lens. Also can you add the greaseable ujoints without having the shaft rebuilt, and if no where do you get a shaft rebuilt. Thanks, Chris

I would go thru behind the lens, and the drive shaft, more specifically the double cardon has to be rebuilt.

actually they now have desicant packages for the lights that allow you to absorb the light.

but if it the moisture goes away when the lites are on you will be fine.

drilling the hole makes it an automatic safety failure for a state inspection.

If it gets alot of moisture say after a rainstorm then do the desicant bags that come with new lights. The dealer can get them for you.

They absorb the moisture.
