Okay, I've done my searching and come up short, so now I'm asking the advice of the masses.
Preparing for an excursion (URE3) where I'll no doubt get stuck, and up until this point I've been lucky enough. Now I'm staring at my stock DII with a factory brush guard nowing I need some front recovery points but all I've found on the forums so far is a) what not to get or b) what works with an after-market bumper. I've been looking at the Warn Shackles but have no idea how I'd attach them. Do I drill into the frame? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks y'all!

I wouldn't drill holes into the frame though...your best bet is to get HD front bumper that accomodates front recovery point, and a D-shackle for the rear.

Jate rings are available for the Disco II, and there is a front recovery point on the DII, however if you have fitted an A-bar it is not accessable.
There are two holes at the bottom of the A-bar that I use for front recovery with shackles and a harness

If you don't want to buy a new bumper and you have a friend that is a good welder, design and make one like I did 4 years ago. As you can see I have 2 points made of 1/2"X 3" material as part of the bumper that goes back nearly 18"s down along side the frame, nothing will move these recovery points or the bumper. Mike |
