What style of Jack and safety stands does everybody use?
What would you recommend to a newbie? Or is the stock jack enough? Weight requirements and all that jazz. I want to start working on the rover but need a few things. |

I tend to vary depending on the job. If I just need to lift a corner, I use Kobalt 2 1/4 ton jack stands, along with a Kobalt or Craftsman Industrial floor jacks. When I'm doing something that requires the whole truck off the ground; I use 6 ton Snap-On jack stands under the frame, with the Kobalts as safety's under the axles. The Snap-On's are built like tanks, probably the toughest stands I've ever owned. For off-road, I have a 5 foot Hi-Lift, with an off-road base. Never would trust the stock jack for anything but an emergency side of the road tire change.
