Default sunroof shade clip

One of the clips on a sunroof shade is broken. Are these easily replaced?

Thanks,
Rich

Yea same here, on my rear sunroof one of the clips is broken so only one half of the sunshade closes right. Let me know if you do find out a replacement or where to get one thanks.

Default Look hard

Look hard and try to find the other piece. If you find it use crazy glue and let it sit for 24 hours before you hook it back on. I did this and it's stronger than the orginals. If you can't find it I've heard of some people buying metal type clips from Lowes or Home Depot and attaching the makeshift metal clip to the remaining plastic by using small screws. Either way I believe it's about $300US to buy a brand new one. No thank you....

The clips are not sold by them selves.

Yea, I think I would buy a universal hook and paint it black.

Default Retractable Sunshades

Theirs a lot involved replacing the Retractable Sunshades in your disco's.

In order to replace them you will need to:

1) Remove the Headliner Board - Completely

2) Remove the Bottom Sunroof Lower Tub, drain tubes and Sunroof Motor

3) Remove the Retractable Sunshade to either repair the one broken or replace the whole unit.

4) we have been replacing just the broken one with a used part for $90 dollar while we install new Headliners for our Customers.

5) if you have any other questions feel free to either email me or give me a call i will walk you through the problem. Bill

Default Hey look what I found!

Rover Connection-Sunroof Clip

I remember reading here that someone was looking for these.
Stumbled across it looking for a good price on O2 sensors.

Sorry, but this is not the part - I ordered it and it is the internal clip, not the external part that we all need...

Need to hit up a junkyard and replace the whole part (shade and all)!

No one makes a replacement clip as of yet, Its easier to replace one side with a used part versus spending endless time driving around from hardware store to Hardware Store using up valuable fuel, running around in junk yards, spending money on lunch. you will spend more money just looking around then what a used replacement part cost.

Granted A New part cost a little over $300 from Landrover Parts Department, used parts are available to resolve the problem, just your labor to install.

let me know how i can help!

Bill

I purchased my disco and it had a clip broken, so I figured eh. I'll just go by the clip.

BUZZZ. wrong answer.

Well what I ended up doing was pretty simple. I got a piece of sheet metal. cut it to the size of the hook, bent the end so it latches. then I drilled a small hole in threw the new piece and the part on the disco. put in a very small bolt and nut.

I even went so much as to spray paint it flat black. so it would match.

This was about 3 years ago and it's still going strong.

I will see if I can take post a picture of it
