Default Suspension Height Reduction

Hello all, I just put in an OME heavy duty suspension 779/762 & N107/108 with steering stabilizer. However, I think the overall ride height is just a tad too high. It would be good for strictly off-roading, but I drive around town alot and would like to reduce the height a bit with clamps or something, other than having to put back in the original springs. Can someone let me know how I can tone down the height of my truck just a bit? Thanks!!

You can't/ shouldn't consider clamping the springs, the ride would be terrible.

Why on God's green Earth did you put hd lifting springs on a truck if you didn't want to lift it?
How high did you think it was going to be? Maybe you should consider a Jeep Liberty.

So how high did it go? Those springs are advertised as a 2" lift and I've heard they don't quite make it there.

Shoulda got different springs- there's no good way to lower it except getting different ones. I'm sure someone out there has some shorter springs and would want to go taller- offer 'em up for trade.

Not true! I say take a torch to them and heat 'em up real good! That'll collapse them!
Go ahead! Do it! You know you want to!

I didn't think that the advertised "1.5in" lift would be anything so substantial. The truck looks like it's on a lift with no weight on the wheels!!! I can't wait to take it off-road, but it needs to have the height toned down a bit. Is there anybody out there who wants to trade for lower OME springs? Or should I just put back the originial factory springs?

Thanks all!!!

I'm using the 2003 19" range rover wheel/tire configuration that is somewhat popular with the Discovery II crowd. I really didn't want to change the wheels yet again...just want to lower the height slightly now since I see how high this truck is now!!

We must run in different crowds...

Seriously though, if you think you are running too high, your best bet is to remove the OME springs and go back to stock. You can sell 'em on here, or on one of the other site, and get a bit of your money back.

Calm down, you say you just installed the suspension. Let it settle in before making a decision regarding taking it off. I just installed mine this week-end and can say that it really did look funny with the stock tires. I got bigger ones, and now the look is perfect. It doesn't look overlifted anymore.

But you really should have thought that you'd need bigger tires with a lift. In my opinion, the lift should come down a bit, but it doesn't change the fact that you'll need tires.
