Default Tail Door Speaker

I have two tail door speaker housings. One has two speakers and plugs into the existing harness, the other has what looks like a small booster amplifier attached to the unit between the two speakers and has a different plug that does NOT mate with the door harness. I can not find any reference to this second setup in RAVE.

Any ideas??

Rich

Thats your factory subwoofer...or supposed to be, there are 2 6.5" speakers in that housing thats at the end of the rear door pocket. I only know of one housing back there...unless someone's added one to yours, you might throw up a few pics...I'm a bit confused about the second harness or whatever....In my opinion the factory subs are terrible. Mine fell all to pieces and I ended up swapping them with some other speakers for a bit, then I removed then all together. I've got polk audio component speakers and my stereo sounds a ton better since i removed the subs...might be something to think about

Here are the two speaker packages the part number on the amplifyer is: A 4025 J7. the on with the amplifyer has a 6 pin connector, I'm sure the two extra pins are for + and ground.

I will need to replace the two speakers regardless of which housing I install. I am happy with the premium system that is installed. I would like and opinion on these two setups and a recommendation on a speaker replacement.

Thanks,
Rich
