Default TC Question.

Last week when I did my differential in, the lights for TC, Descent control and ABS and, the one for the BRAKE came on.
The diff is fixed...
... The lights are still on.

Any idea as to what I should be looking for?

You will have to find a mechanic who can clear the codes, they won't go away on there own.

OK, but the Traction control stops working when the lights are on?

That is normal, usually only the ABS will still work.

Mike -- Any idea what the 'brake' light comes on for? I have the three amigos on due to crap brake pads squealing ... sometimes when coming to a complete stop, abs seems to kick in, and then the brake light goes on...

I'm going to replace my pads & rotors in the upcoming month or so, then I'll hook a testbook up to see what it's throwing and reset it...

So the only two most common things I can think of would be low brake fluid, or you may need to adjust your e-brake.

Ryan, the same thing has been happening with my '04. Once in a while when stopping full stop the BRAKE, TC and ABS lights come on accompanied by a triple gong. Turning off and restarting the truck always clears the lights. Sometimes the ABS needs 50 feet or so of roll before it goes out. The HDC warning light has never come on.

I took it to the dealer to have it looked at under factory warranty (1200 miles left) and they read a SLABS code 48301 "Disturbance at the right front wheel speed sensor." They removed and cleaned the sensor and treated the pads with anti-squeal compound.

It's happened twice since. Once when I hopped down off a curb and the TC tripped; then the next stop the lights came on. The last time was after I drove about 100 miles in the rain and the truck sat out all night in the rain. First full stop and the on came the lights again - and off again when I restarted.

I plan to check and repeat the treatment on the other hubs and see if that makes any difference. Sure wish I had a way of reading the SLABS codes. Is there a scanner other than TestBook or AutoLogic that will do that?
