Default Telling the difference

I bought my Rover about 2 months ago and it is clean and runs great. I have not had any problems. This is a real blessing. However, it listed as a 2000 model, but my door jamb says 1999 I just noticed this when cleaning the truck recently. How can I tell the difference and is it anything I can do if they listed it as a 2000 and it is a 1999? Secondly, my truck came with every option except the ace package. What makes is different from the SE, I see that at times on trucks.

Look under the hood and if you see Bosch then it's a 2000. If you see Lucas, start drinking.

yep, my '95 has an Oct '94 build date. so if it is late '99 build date, would make sense.

the rearview mirror, under the hood...check neither of them...

just check from under...if there's a leak, then yours is a genuine LR

My 03 was purchased by the original owner in June of 2003. I found a sticker behind the dash that has the date 11/03 on it. Any thoughts?

Ford never "made" one, but 2000 was long before Ford was in the picture.

basically it takes around three months to get them to the dealership from the buiild date.

new cars come out in june so its around april or march that they produce new model years. But that doesnt explain new vehicle launches. For example we got the LR3 at the end of October.

Ford isnt involved at all in the running of LR. Its solely apart of Ford Premier Group. Land Rover uses some of Fords parts suppliers but thats about all. They do also use a portion of the WDS diagnostic system.

The only ford part on the LRS is the LR3 V6. It is produced in Germany for Explorers and rangers and the LR3. but the motor is designed for LR. So the bottom end doesnt look the same as a explorer motor.

Please understand Ford has nothing to do with design or manufacturer of LR.

the BMW Range ROver has almost all BMW parts wereas the LR is all Ford premier parts.

the V8 is a jag, the diesel is a Jag,

When your Disco was made, Ford was not the owner- BMW was still at it.
