Default Throttle Body Cleaning

So Seafoaming is done. How do you clean the throttle body. I got a can of Gum Out, Carb & Choke cleaner. I read the can and it said not for EFI engines. Is there one that is safe to use.

Do I just take off the intake hose on the intake manifold and spray the cleaner in there and wipe it out or should I open the Butterfly and spray it in there as well?

Just spray it in there like you said, being careful not to get any on your MAF of course, and wipe it out. If you can get your rag in past your butterfly it wouldn't hurt to clean there as well. The carb and choke cleaner (as long as it is the O2 sensor safe variety) won't hurt anything if you spray it past the butterfly.

Ok, I'll give it a shot this evening. I don't recall the can saying anything about O2 sensors. Should I take it back that specifically says 02 sensor safe?

I can't really say one way or another... The cleaner I bought said it but it may just be a marketing ploy.

If you have an old tooth brush, after you remove the air intake hose, spray the inside of the t/body real well, also open the throttle plate and spray as fat down the throat as you can, then scrub out all the old build up, wipe out the excess with a couple pieces of paper towel.
Before you put it back together spray some of the carb cleaner up into the idle control by pass hose. Then reattach the hose, start the engine, do not pump the throttle if the engine is flooded, just let it crank till it starts then rev it up once and you are done.
