Default tick tick and away! (Alternator?)

Have a small concern, I've read the other (ticking) post but still don't know what to make of this. My 02 Series II with 73,000 is ticking while idleing. It ticks while the engine is hot and cold. When she's idleing it sounds like the ticking is coming from the alternator, I can put my finger on the top of the alternator and feel a viberation every tick. When I give it gas the ticking goes faster as well. 30 days and my LR warrenty is up, I would like to get this worked out before then. I'm also about to take a 300 mile trip this weekend, should I? I know this post is out there (many times) but nothing ever was mentioned about the alternator which is orginal. Any help is much appreciated, BTW oil change every 3,000 miles with Havoline 10W-30 Havoline oil filter she's full now. I put a can of sea foam in the gas tank today. I've had the 60,000 mile service where they (should) treat the engine. Sea Foam whatever. Thanks!

see my other post (in the other ticking thread) about fuel injector pulse. not sure if you'd feel that at the alternator, but maybe on the injector top.

I found out my Alternator has a bad bearing and makes this howling noise. (Rover part =675.00 US dollars)

Not really a tick but bad bearings cause a tick.

I posted about my 02 Disco having the lifter tick. I'm going to check that exhaust gasket next just to see what happens as it will be a cheap trial. I'll let you know what I find out but I can assure you if you have a noticeable "tick" sound it's not your alternator or injector pilse.......
