A little good news to report as I deal with other self-induced repairs to my wife's DII. I had the same ticking noise at start-up that many others have reported. Went away, for the most part, when warmed up. When I dropped the exhaust to change cooler lines, it was evident that I had blow-by on the manifold to header-pipe gasket. Replaced the gaskets, tightened everything up, started her up and NO ticking noise! Easy fix. I was also fortunate that there was very little if no corrosion on the manifold nuts/studs. Hit them with a little PB Blaster the night before and they came out like they were new.
Thanks again for all the help with past posts. - Bill |
