Default Tire advice needed

Looking for a more aggressive tire then the one that is on my DII now.

Requirements:
I wanna stay with my stock 18" wheels.
Don't want to have to trim wells.
Don't want to increase size so much as to mess up all the things that mess up on a Disco with large tires.

Operational needs:
Nothing extreme. Mostly highway, a weekend a month in the woods, moderate trails/mud. And living in New England will be in deep snow.

I realize more aggressive means highway noise, less efficient. I'll deal with that.

Was thinking about the BF Goodrich Commercial T/A Traction, but doesn't seem to come in 18".

Thanks for any advice/experience.

There are a few options:

Nitto Terra Grappler comes in the following sizes:

265/70R18
275/70R18
275/65R18

It's a slippery slope - 18"s - aggressive - no rub or trim.

Here we go..........

I was gonna say Grapplers too because they have an aggressive sidewall yet maintain a quieter ride than a MT tire. If I was going to do it again I would ditch the 18's and get 16's off of ebay or somewhere. Even the steel ones look nice and are only $99 from AB. Shop around you may find some cheaper.

The 18s are nice because the shorter sidewall makes cornering better, however they cost a good deal more than 16's of the same tire. I just bought General Grabbers AT2s which are more of an all season tire with moderate tread pattern. After all was said and done it cost me nearly a grand. If I had bought some cheaper 16's the cost would have been at least a couple hundred less.

If you want aggressive looks on an 18 and want quiet-ish ride then go for the Nittos.

I recommend the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's I just got 255/70/r16's but they are also available in an 18". They are quiet on the highway and agressive enough.

Of course, we have been down this road.

Really tho 265/70R18 vs 265/60/18 (yours) gonna need a lift for such little difference,,, potato - patato...

18's ia always a heated debate. One guy got ran out on rails trying to defend his point on 18's - slippery slope indeed.

I second the Scorps, they are awsome tires on my wife's Jeep and they have the Heavy Load in the 255/55 R18 size. They are great in the snow and quiet.
