99DII. Bought the truck with an OME kit already installed. Measured the distance from the ground to the frame brace under the transfer case and it sits about 2 1/2 inches higher than my wife's stock 99DII. I will eventually be going with a 265/75/16 tire. I was thinking of installing 1 or 2 of the rubber spring spacers to get closer to a 3 in. lift. If I go a tad over 3 in., will I be messing with my drive line angle too much and get into vibration problems?
Thanks - Bill |

That is what I did with my 99 D2.
Do you know exactly what coils were installed on the truck, there are 4 different ones? I am currently running 265s on my truck and when measured from the ground thru the center of the wheel up to the wheel well molding, mine sits at 36.5"s. Anything over that and you could be getting into that grey area, where drive shaft angles will be in trouble. Check and make sure all 3 u-joints on the front drive shaft have grease fittings, if they don't, get them replaced. You know, going to 265's will cost you about 2 MPG in town, 1.5 on the road? Also do you know about your t/case/CDL? Mike |

Thanks Mike. I'll compare that measurement to mine. I don't know which springs were installed and yes, I did have both driveshafts rebuilt with greaseable u-joints. I am aware of the mileage penalty and will eventually re-gear it, but it's not financially prudent to do right now. I would also like to eventually put the '04 linkage on it to activate the CDL if I can find the parts at a reasonable price.
Thanks - Bill |

rubber spring spacers? isn't that a tad bit of a "ghetto" way to lift a ride? i've just heard spring spacers are never a good way for a permanent solution to gaining some ride height.
i know down the road I'd like to get a 2-3" lift myself with OME shocks on my D2...any higher is a bit much for a daily driver

ok. as long as that is accounted for then go for it lol. I've seen some really stomach churning "lifts" done by spacers, some of the most unsafe suspensions jobs ever.
![]() but 1 or 2 to level out is ![]()

Usually this group will have both linkages, their 04 set up normally sells for $350. On the isolators, I put 2 on the passenger side 1 on the drivers side, I needed to off set the additional weight of the dual batteries. Mike |
