Default totalled the rover...

i got t-boned tonight and the rover rolled over...my girlfriend and i got out while it was still upside down....i'll be posting pictures soon enough. i had to get five stitches on my cut-to-the-bone thumb. Anyway...what i'm really asking is this....... how much do you think i'm gonna get for that thing? i mean...it was a 2001 SE7 rear air, jump seats, running boards, leather, six disc changer, blah blah blah...i got the blue book value for it, which was like 15,500 for retail value, and about 10-12,000 for private party value. I am just curious as to what will happen..anyway, pics tomorrow!!!

p.s...i am heartbroken over the rover, but i am extremely happy that my girlfriend and i are alive and well...

i guess it was unnecessary for this thread, but i was just curious about what you guys think is the going rate for these suckers...DiscoMike was the first person i called after my parents. Thanks to all.

ahh man, im really sorry. What insurance company do you have?--I know that mine (allstate) has some sort of vehicle replacement program vs. just giving you money back.

It depends on the mileage, but the DIIs have been running from about 12k-15k for a non-SE7. ...the extra jump seats seem to put them in a little higher demand.

I was sorry to hear from you last night, glad you both were OK. Well that is the down side of it, the up side is that you now get to buy another one and start working on it in the drive way.
Start doing your home work, watch the adds, look for other Rovers like your, keep track of their model, year , mileage and price cause at some time you will have to sit down with an adjuster and start dealing. Don't take his first offer.

yeah...thanks for the advice mike. also, thanks for answering when i called, i didn't know who else to call other than my mom and dad for help on that kind of problem. I just felt like you were one of 'the guys' to call about land rover problems...!

and also, thanks to everyone for your sympathy. It's nice to know that we are all somewhat close (although such strangers to one another) because of something we all love-land rovers/and of course the almighty range rover.

I totalled mine in April 05. Insurance company gave me a low-ball offer, which I rejected. I basically got every bluebook price I could off the net, then went to every site in town (cars.com, etc.) and got comps + I added in all the equipment at 50% of purchase value, then bombarded the adjustor with e-mails. They offered about 12,500 for it, I told them I wanted 21k for it (which was high). Ended up I got 16,500 for it + I got to pull all my stuff off that wasn't damaged in the wreck (skidplates, ARB steps, dog guard, etc.), then I sold it all online and made about another 2k. Ended up I argued with the adjustor until I got her so made she dumped me on her supervisor, then I got him so mad he finally gave up and made the aforementioned reasonable offer to me. You have to really work them to get a decent price because they basically get paid to screw you out of every penny they can.

I am sincerely sorry to hear of your misfortune...however I am pleased to hear that no one in YOUR vehicle sustained any serious injury. Good luck with your settlement and replacement truck.

Glad you and yours is ok, the pics are very telling of the strength and durability of the truck. The truck did it's job and helped save your life. First and foremost, though thanks to God.. Have a safe recovery
