I have a 2004 Disco w/ 21000 miles. When letting off the throttle in high gear, i.e. slowing down in traffic, and then throttling up again, I hear one loud clunking sound that to me sounds like too much play in the drive line. I have spoken to the dealer about it and they assuree me that this is normal behavior. Anyone else have the "clunk". Thanks a lot.

Join the Rover club of full time 4wheel drive. This is very common and is caused from the lash generated between the front and rear difs when speeding up or backing off on the gas.
