Default Transfer Case Replaced at 35K?

Hi All,

I have an '03 SE7 D2 with only 35K miles. It has been dealer serviced since I purchased it new in 2003.

I put extended warranty on vehicle when mfg warranty expired.

This week I took the truck into the dealership because it was making a rhythmic noise, uncommon from somewhere under the truck and I wanted to know what was wrong with it.

The dealer says the transfer case is going bad.

They said that the repair will be covered under warranty and I gave the go ahead for them to repair which BTW will be about 3KUS.

My question is: is the transfer case going bad normal for a truck with so few miles and being well cared for?

thanks and sorry for the wordiness of this post.

Richard.

It is not normal and I have been hearing more and more about this happening over the last 6 months.
Not sure what to tell you other then to be glad you bought the warranty.

I have an axe you can borrow

So would that make this assisted suicide?
