Default Transmission liquid cooler connector

I saw that my transmission cooler ines are rsuted at the connection point ( see attached). I cannot figure out how to get these connectors apart. I have tried what the RAVE says but they don't want to come off. Do I push the lines into the black connectors and then at the same time pull against the connectors? Also once I get them off...should I replace the rusted connectors...should I have one made...I would hate to replace the entire pile being that it attaches to the back of the transmission...has anyone else come accross this issue?

You pull BACK on the black part and PUSH the line INTO the cooler then PULL the line out (the whole time you are pulling the black part back). They can be a little finicky...I added an engine oil cooler on mine...didnt get the line in all the way and it poped out while i was driving down the road....needless to say all 7 quarts dumped out of the engine in about 2 seconds...luckily i noticed the oil drop imediatley and pulled over....so make sure you get them back on correctly when your done.

Use a little WD-40 to work the black connector back and forth.

I dont think you will be able to replace that connector easily, the easier route would be to get a used set from a part of the country that doesnt get snow/salt.

You may have a hell of a time getting that off. It looks like the corrosion has expanded the plastic piece. Soak it for DAYS in a good penetrant before you try and release it. Don't get used lines, go new. Good luck.
