Default transmission problem?

When I shift from reverse to drive, I notice a hesistation as I press on the gas. After a second, it feels like the gear drops into place and then nothing unusual.

I had posted earlier about a problem with my steering wheel shaking and it was suggested I look into the double cardon joint. I've been reading about this potentially causing transimisson problems. Could these two issues be related?

NO
Check your fluid level in the transmission, how many miles on the truck?
When I mentioned the double cardon failing, it was not to mean that it was causing your steering wheel to shake, it was just to make sure you know about it's problem. i believe your tires are out of balance still.
Go have them checked and find a mechanic who can check your fluid level from under the truck.
Good luck,
Mike
