Default Transmission shutter/shake

Every now and again when I am accellerating from a stop a strange shutter when my tranny shifts. It usually happens in the lower gears and it does not happen all the time. I can tell if the transmission is slipping or what. Has anyone on here experienced this and what can i do to remedy it. Could i just be low on fluid?

Are you sure it is the tranny, how many miles on it, when was it serviced last, do you get a warning light?
Could it be the front drive shaft that is starting to fail??

i am pretty sure its not the front ds. i had it serviced and replaced all the u-joints not too long ago. I am almost 100 percent positive that it is the tranny...the truck has 89K on it, not sure when the last tranny service was...

Josh,
is it usually between second and third gear, mine has done that before if so and dosent happen often at all, when my disco was under warranty they did a fluid flush and changed the filter for me, and said that was the fix but it still happens at times

I feel your pain!

With the amount of wheeling you have been doing you should be changing out your trans fluid more often. The price of fluid is cheap compared to a trans. Just cheap insurance, IMO.

I wouldn't worry about replacing the filter, just drain and refill adding a bottle of Lucas tranny additive and see it that cleans up the problem.
