I have a Discovery II 2004

In haynes worshop manual for the 12 months service it says to clean the fuel sedimenter which is attached to bottom of the fuel filter.

On checking under the R/H side rear wheel arch, my discovery does not have one fitted.

Could anyone tell me if this was deleted on my modle year or is it now included in the fuel filter.

Thanks in Antisipation.

Are you sure your haynes manual isn't for the DI? Theres no fuel filter on the DII, it's a screen on the fuel pump which is in your gas tank.

You don't have a fuel filter, and as mentioned if it were a D1, you just replace the fuel filter every 12,000 to 15,000 depending on the type and quality of gas you use.

The car is a TD5 Diesel
There is a fule filter fitted but it has a plastic piece on the bottom which I think Must be the fuel sedimenter. In the haynes book it shows the fuel filter with no plastic bit on the bottom but with a sedimenter screwed into the bottom which has then got an electrical block connecter pushed into the bottom of the sedimenter. To change the fule filter it says to unplug the electrical conection, unsrew the sedimenter, fit the sedimenter to the new filter then refit the filter and reconnect the electics.
The only thing I can think is that this type of fuel filter with a plastic bit fitted to the bottom, which unscrews to drain has replaced the original setup.

Sorry,
You didn't mention it was a diesel.
Don't know what to tell you , just don't have any experience with them.
