Default Vehicle Height

Hi all. Thanks to those that helped me out in the SE7 thread. This board is great! However, before I buy, I need to know if the Disco is gonna fit in my garage at work. The sign says clearance is only 6'2", the entrance is the lowest point. According to several sources, the Disco measure 6'3.5" (or so). Does anyone know if that includes the roof rails? Secondly, from my reading, I suspect that those equipped with the Self-Leveling Suspension can alter the ride-height in the rear (for approach/departure angles). Do you think this might allow me to lower it prior to entering the garage so I can squeeze in there? Thanks is advance, I would hate to miss out on the Rover experience because someone built our parking garage with the Mini in mind...

the height is 1,941mm or 76.4" (~6'5") from the spec sheets i read.. Is there any outdoor parking there? The other problem is, once you get the LR, if you get the offroading bug and start moding, its all down hill from there.. my rover is almost 7 1/2 feet tall (lift, bigger tires, roof rack, etc..)

There should be a height guide on the driver side sun visor with the measurements, in inches and mm so you'll have to do some coversion but it's not looking ggof for you right now unles some of the measurements have some fluff. The specs given for the 04 'SE 7(no sls)
According to the visor the roof rails = 78" / 1980mm
rear Sun Roof up = 79.5" / 2015mm
rear Roof line = 76.5" / 1940mm

Maybe they will let you drive it home to see if it fits?

The sls is only on the rear but it might work and you would probably always have to watch your speed, since its probably speed sensitive. I don't have the SLS but perhaps someone who does can help!

I have the 02 DII with the SLS..

im pretty sure you can lower the rear but you have to do it with the remote that you will have to buy separately I guess. it's intended to connect the trailer to the trailer hitch.

I don't really know if it's speed sensitive like when you jack the the rear suspension, it goes normal when you hit 25/35 mph...you could ask a dealer if you want though.

wouldn't it be too much to lower the SLS everytime you head to work? it's just that it would be best to get an outdoor parking spot. don't want to scrape the rig

Thanks for the responses. I have free parking at work in a covered garage. Everything outside on the city streets nearby is 2 hour only. It's a small 20 car garage, so I wouldn't be going fast or far with the rear lowered. And, technically, once past the entrance, I will have several inches more clearance.

I probably could test one at a dealership near my work. But, I suspect I might have to remove the roof-racks. Anyone know of any plugs or such to fill the holes temporarily?

Man, I hope this will work out, because I've done a fair bit of research and pretty much found the Disco II to be just about everything I would want. It's such a great and versatile package!

is it a roof-rails or roof-racks? if it's a roof rack then it's gonna be a tough one...

test one to see the clearance to be sure

Sorry, I guess it would be the two front-biased rails that come on, I assume, every Disco. Not an optional or after-market add-on.
