A few warning lights came on my 02 Discovery. ABS, Descent Control and traction control lights all came on and the truck seems to be driving normal. Anyone else had this problem or know what it may be?

It's a common problem to Discos. It might be one of your brake pad sensors. It might just need cleaning or replacing, not that expensive to replace, so have that checked ASAP. Just my 2 cents, so anyone more mechanically-oriented post a reply here.

X2 Have it checked before you start replacing things like crazy. On my Disco the brakes would squeal. The high pitched sound would reak havoc on that sensors and cause the dash ABC, TC and Brake light to come on. For me I think they just had to do a bake job that solved it but it wasn't cheap, but each disco is a little different. Its always somthing to do with the brakes, dirty sensors, failing sensors, sensitive sensors, brakes, are a few I have heard so far. The ligts are the Disco's way of saying it needs some of your attention.

How many miles on the truck, are you running factory pads and rotors or aftermarket, who's? What were you doing when the lights came on, are your front wheels covered with brake dust, do your brakes squeak?

Have the dealer turn off the lights, after he reads the codes, as part of the brake job, or don't have him do them. Hell you could do rear brakes on that truck in under an hour and save a bunch in the process. What did he quote you for the job? Mike |

if not an individual sensor or hub that has contaminated the problem I would hedge a bet and you got a shuttlevalve code.
the shuttlevalve in the modulator goes bad. You can replace the switches now without doing the entire modulator. |

Been living with this problem for a couple of years now, Land Rover agent here in UAE does bugger all about it.
I even picked it up straight from a service once with all three lights on and all they said was they will go off next time you start the engine, they don't give a monkeys Basically there is a fault with one of the sensors or its the shuttle valve. For what it it worth I live with it, sometimes the lights come on daily, other times not at all.
