Question Washers no washy

New to me 2001 Disco II.

Reservoir full of yummy windshield washing juice. I pull the switch toward me - the wipers wipe and a drop, maybe a bubble comes out of the jets.

What to check?

Thanks AGB

One line feeds both of them, it runs up to the top of the hood on the driver side into a L bracket I believe, then goes to the first washer jet (near driver), then there is a T junction that feeds to the passenger one.. I'd assume that one of the connectors may be clogged... This is what I'd do:

1: get a pin and check the jets on the top
2: under the hood, pull the connections and make sure they are clear... if I remember properly, one of them may be a one way valve... so that may be broken.
3. Pull the lines and blast compressed air through them to see if theres a clog

Maybe aught to stop using Yummy Windshield Washer Juice.
As already mentioned, clean out the lines, might want to clean out the bottle and the pump screens if need be.

What does Yummy Windshield Washer Fluid taste like?
I wonder if you can make frozen margaritas with it?

My buddy Evil German Dude puts a little alcohol in his washer fluid. Wintergreen "flavored" if you will. I have never done that but he says it disolves the bugs better than just washer fluid alone.

Just teasing ya about the taste.
I'd also follow the outlined above procedure.

Well windshield washer fluid contains alcohol normally... so it doesn't freeze and will evaporate when not wiped away.. they contain a combination of methanol, detergent and water..

So he was upping the alcohol content.....
Sounds like something an Evil German would do.

my truck doesnt have headlight washers, but I've seen them before.. there is another hose that comes off of the reservoir that goes to these... chance it could be clogged.. but... for headlight washers, they are programmed by the computer to go off 1 out of 3 regular washes (I believe that was it) ... so it could be an electrical issue someone more than a clogging issue.

Thanks y'all will check out what is going on - now that I think about it (duh) it could be a clogged tube or jet. In that they are both not squirting I am assuming it is the tube. Will get ye olde compressor out and blast the varmint.

I thanks ye all.

AGB

p.s. I have a friend who is a vet and he was telling me about a client who had come by and both his dogs had been poisoned (deliberately) by some bastard with anti-freeze. I think he said they use alcohol to help treat them - kind of keep them drunk or something - all depends on when they git the critter. Of course yummy juice is not anti-freeze...
