Thumbs down Well the trip to Chicago was a bust!!!

Well, that was a bust!.... Drove 2.5 hours to Chicago to get this 2000 Disco.... oh yea, looks and runs like new!... yea, right.... well..... It needed the grill and signal light like i knew.......... and the rear was all the way down... i noticed that they could not get the hood to latch due to the actual latch being missing from the body and not the hood... I thought to my self... WOW... that $10 latch is not letting the hood push the pin switch under the hood..... not allowing the rear to come up!.... nope!.... even with it pushed and another time with the sales guy leaning on the hood to hold it all the way closed, all doors closed, it still did not come up.... and i could just barily hear the pump.... so i know that it was working!... so that i guess was a good sign!..... maybe just a hose or bags right?!!!......

So i took it around the block to check it out.... as i was not going to let the hood latch talk me out of it, so i took it around the block... and heard a clicking sound comming from under the center of the vehicle...(like when an axle is out on a front wheel drive car!!!)..... got it back to see if maybe the drive line is rubbing due to the rear being down... nope.... dont know what it was... but saw some oil on there where the engine was leaking!.... i decided to call it off and drive my 2.5 hours back home empty handed, cursing all the way! :-D

Any one know what would have been causing a clicking sound like that?.... i could sort of "feel" it too... as i am hard of hearing.... Thanks for the help guys!... If anyone knows of a Nice Disco within about 5 hours of Kalamazoo Michigan for cheap... shoot me a pm!...

it sucks at the time, but you will thank yourself later. a couple months ago i went to check out a bmw 325ix 350 miles away. needless to say it was not as described.

if i didnt drive home empty handed i would never have discovered...discoveries.
i am a happy camper now. if you wait long enough it will be worth it when the right disco comes around. good luck!

I know you guys are right!.... but what a bummer!......

Now i'm looking at 2 different Disco's..... both near the same area ... one Near NewYork City 1997 and the other in CT 1996...... Bidding on the one near NY tonight and also made an unofficaal offfer on the other one in CT..... Hoping to get one of the two... as the one near NY, they are giving a 3 month unconditional powertrain warrentee on it!... and it is a SE7...... the other is just a 5 seater..... will have to add the heated seats on that one myself!.... :-D its cold here!..... I will be flying in if i get either one of them!..... later guys, Kelly
