what coils to get ? - Land Rovers Only

im looking to get new wheels, tires and coils for my discoII but im having trouble on which coild to get so many choices ....
i dont really want a big lift 2 inches max and if i get coils will i need to upgrade anything else ?

just shocks and im going OME springs they seem good becasue every one has them and i have yet to hear some one talk down about them.

Are you going to have a winch and bumper some day?
I would go with the 751 OME front springs along with their HD shocks and stabilizer and the matching rear coils and shocks.
I put my set on 4 years ago and they have held up really well.

The 751 springs up front will give more than 2" of lift and will need 781 rears with a 1" spacer to sit level with a winch and bumper. If you just want a smaller lift (and you said 2" max) go with OME 779 up front and 781 in the rear with N107 and N108 shocks. No other mods are neccessary.

yea sorry i forgot to say i have a ARB bullbar and im getting a warn 9.5xp winch and maybe a roof rack i also would like to apply as less stress as possible on that rotoflex drivetrain

i got Heavy duty springs and shocks all around with the steering stablizer. they work GReat.

do u need to extend your drivetrain if your lift is higher then 2 inches ? because that was y i said the limits 2 i have heard that from other people

Well it was a lucky guess on my part regarding the possibility of a winch and bumper.
And Yes, a 751 will handle a winch set up well, 779's will drop under the load over time.
Here is a picture of mine with 751"s in front as well as 2 half inch rover spacers which has given mine a good 3" lift which it has held for the last 4 years. So look at mine and take off an inch and this is what your truck will look like on 265 tires.

i got 762 and 779 , do you suggest i get spacers in the rear.

hey theres some springs. and shocks. but mike. the 751 are for Disco 1 only right? because i had to put 779, b/c i had a D2. and there both listed as Heavy Duty, so why would one sag more than the other. Are they not the same springs fitted for 2 different model Discos?

Yes, you are right, 751's are listed for D1's and work really well on D2's if your looking for a little extra.
While in California, I found that was the spring of choice, especially with the winch combo. Yes 779's are list as HD for a D2 but they won't handle much off road pounding with the extra weight on the nose.
As for your question, no they are not the same spring for two different vehicles, the load rating is completely different.
My first set of springs were 779's and they started dropping within 3 months, by over an inch.

Jupiter, I wouldn't go to spacers in your case unless you go for a winch and find some place to play hard in the rocks. As for spacers for the rear, it looks pretty even, I wouldn't do anything untill you finish your mods, then stand back and look to see if any height changes are needed.

As long as you stay under 3"s you will be fine with no other changes.

ok, well too late now. they have been on for a month. so the 751 fit D2? thats pretty cool. maybe i can switch them out sometime. and what do you suggest for the rear?
