Default What To Do With Old Motor ???

HELLO...I took out the original motor out of my 2000 land rover discovery 2. The reason i took it out and replaced it was there was coolant in a cylinder. Don't really know caused the problem , the motor had 124k on it. So what is the best thing to do with this motor , can it be sold for parts ? I don't know if it has a cracked block or just the heads to be worked on ?? I just want to sell it as is. Does anybody have any phone #'s to someone that may want it . THANKS R T T

So did you ever do a coolant pressure test and compression test.

seems to me you jumped the shark and didnt give enough diagnosis.

rule number one if you think it needs an engine, pull the heads and have them sent out and then inspect the block.

tell me did you install new head gaskets in the new engine or just throw a used engine in?

HELLO ROVIN4LIFE , On the new engine no i did not put new heads on it. The new motor has 65k on it. And no we did not pressure test it. For what it would have cost to do all the testing on it it seemed just as reasonable to put this newer motor in it for the price that i found it for. And yes i will keep in touch with you if i need any more info on my LR DISCOVERY 2 , this world is all new to me. R T T

A mechanic's dream customer. Wow. Hope you learn more about your vehicle in the future. Diagnosis is as important on a vehicle, as it is in a hospital.
