Default What Is Ford Thinking!!!!

I have no idea what ford is thinking selling LandRover to some overseas company . Ford finally figured landrover out. They were the first to get the reliability of landrovers good. They are selling to some economy company. Holy crap i have no idea what they are thinking. Im pretty sure ford just doomed landrover forever. I just dont understand this landrovers are now going to be an economy car. This just pisses me right off. Tell me what you know and what you think.

I dont think its such a bad thing. At least we got a stretch of reliable land rovers before the Indians start making them gold plated with rolls royce engines.

Time will tell. The problem with ford is that its run by shareholders whose only concern is the bottom line, and how things go in the next quarter. Ford may have done some good things for land rover, but i dont think they necessarily WERE a good thing for LR. A huge conglomerate has a better chance of letting Land Rover run itself, and has a lot of potential to restore some individuality to the brand. Ford will still be supplying parts for the next 10 years or something anyways.

LMAO! Ford has been the straw that broke the camel's back, in land rover's history. How can they sell to overseas? Come on, are you serious? Really? It's a British company. At least when they sold to BMW, it stayed european. And it was BMW that did all of the design work into the RRIII. That is the truck that turned Land Rover around. Ford just bought at the right time, and claimed the credit. Kind of like reagen after carter, and bush after clinton. Typical american B.S.. Now they just do it with cars.

Don't forget that Ford wanted to put the Explorer chassis under the Discovery, thank God Land Rover did not let that happen.

BMW was good for LR not Ford. I get the impression that Tata will let Land Rover just be Land Rover, not to mention that India has a long history with British.

They weren't thinking. They need the cash. Ford is almost bankrupt. Simple as that.

Ford already took a second mortgage on the house. Now they're going to the pawn shop. Volvo will be next.
