I'm running Castrol GTX 10w30, with K&N 4001(short oil filter). Depending on how cold it gets I might go to 5W30 for the next oil change. Does anyone use the Castrol Start Up Protection?

I'd stick with a product like the Red Line Fuel System cleaner. It says its safe to use every tankful, or just the Land Rover Fuel System Conditioner. I think Rovers Carbon up too quickly to use a product you can only use twice a year. If you bought it you might as well use it but I wouldn't buy any more. As for Octane Booster, I don't think anyone has found any Octane Booter that actually boosts Octane, not that more than 93 may be necessairly better anyway.

Conventional 10w40 Valvoline here. The dealer actually steered me away from synthetics as they tend find there way through seals and gaskets a little easier than conventional oil does.

Called my dealer and they use Penzoil 10w30, so that's what I used the last change.
